Hope you're well!

End of the year is in sight and I thought a Fig update was slightly overdue! We've had a monster year, I must admit, and the boy done good. Again... He has attended two High Profile competitions, with top 10 placings and even 1st places this year. We went to the BD Winter Champs @ Hartpury (Elementary Restricted), and although a bad spook put us out the running, he was still very well behaved. We didn't impress much at the Summer Regionals - harsh judging and Fig being a spooky wotsit left us under the halfway point in a big class. But my wounds were healed when for the third season in a row (and only a few days after the above), he won his Area Festival class (Medium Restricted). And thus has qualified for BD Winter Champs @ Hartpury in 2015. And did so in rather spectacular weather (please see horrendously soggy picture attached) on a cracking 70%+ score. More recently Fig was placed Elementary Champion with 70%+ at the Retraining of Racehorses Championships, and won himself a sash, trophy and rug and me a big fat cheque!!!! He has moved up 2 levels this year, and is now gaining scores in the mid to high 60's (training) at Advanced Medium. We nailed our Winter Regional qualification at Medium Restricted early on, and will actually go this year - we usually chicken out because it's too cold and dark! Come December, when the qualification dates swap over, we will head back out at Medium and gain our Summer Regional qualification before making our official move up to Advanced Medium and hope to smash it once more at the Area Festivals at that level. We hope to attend a couple of Premier Leagues next year too. The main goal for 2015 will be to gain a qualifying score in an Advanced test which will gain me my Rider Group 3 status, and thus allow us to compete at Affiliated PSG. We are nearly there at home, sometimes we can get three 5 time changes, some days we can't get one! It's all still new and exciting but he seems very happy.

Just a quick email to say thank you for helping us find Super Duper for my daughter. We were looking for a second pony to teach her to jump and that is exactly what she is doing, she qualified for ponies uk cradle stakes winning her class the first time out and has continued to be in the ribbons at every show. Buying from you was really easy and we never felt pressured at any point. The fact that you were able to take her first pony in part exchange was brilliant as she was able to distract herself with Super Duper.

We will definitely be back to you when she is ready for her next pony

Thanks again Gill Cook

A little update re: Fig for you. We qualified for the ROR (exracer) champs at Vale View, for the Prelim and Novice that took place last yesterday. He was brilliant! He came off the lorry breathing fire, but settled after a long calm warm up. He went on to come 2nd in the Prelim with 74.09% (and won £200!) and came 3rd in the Novice with 67.69% (and won £100!). So very very chuffed with him, as is my bank account. It will be going towards a new saddle for him which is something I'm looking forward to sorting out. Warm regards, Nikki

I thought I would send you a pic of Selma, she is doing great, she's very fit at the moment, we go jumping most weekends for lessons and I am hoping to go affiliated next year competing.

We have a great bond and she is a pleasure to ride even in her cheeky moments, I couldn't have asked for a better horse. Thanks Rachel

TestimonialHi Carol,

He's doing brilliantly with his training, we are working on his trot and canter half pass, and have some well established single flying changes on the go. I am excited to say that we are going to debut at Elementary in a fortnight! He has 4 more parties this year, the last being the ROR at Vale View that we have qualified for (up the road from us) in early November - where first place prize money is £300, so I'm hoping we can sweep the Prelim and the Novice, as that would be very nice for me!! Although I would undoubtedly end up spending it on Fig.... He'll then have until early February 2013 training, we'll maybe do 1 or 2 very low key shows with no pressure, just to keep him used to the atmosphere/sights/sounds. Then we'll head out for the Winter Regionals in February and then the Petplan Champs in April. I have attached some pics of shiny, happy pony! Nic x

I just wanted to say how pleased Nikki and I are with Fig (Galileo Figaro). Just as you said he would be-he has been very genuine and tries very hard to please, despite having had a total career change since he came to us (racing to dressage). He seems to remember every single step of his schooling from one day to the next and in only two weeks has made huge progress towards becoming a dressage diva, so watch this space! We are aiming to have him out competing around June/July time at BD novice level, with the aim of doing the area festivals and the retraining of racehorse classes at that level. I cannot thank you enough for holding him for us, and for delivering him to us-he was the best Christmas present by a long way!

Thanks again, Fran and Nikki Turner

I just wanted to let you know how we are doing.
Dylan is turning into the very special horse that you said he would !

It hasn't been easy - both Dylan and Emily's confidence took a massive battering a few weeks into the partnership and we didnt ever think it would recover. You so kindly offered to find us an alternative to our 'perfect' horse and we very nearly took you up on that offer but, we didnt - and just a bit of patience later here they are competing in their first British Novice !! He's still a bit silly, a bit spooky and a bit strong but Emily is learning to 'ride' him and starting to make a bloody good job too !! He is the most sweetest, good natured, quite chilled horse ever - we've clipped him, hacked him out through one of the busiest roads in town, had the dentist, farrier and physio all of which he has taken completely in his stride. We didn't get a double clear today (8 flts in the 2nd part) BUT WE WILL !! We adore him and feel very confident that this morning was the start of things to come !!

Thanks Again and see you soon hopefully somewhere on our travels, Kerrie, Emily and Dylan xx

Well I have had Oscar for 1 month now and he has settled in well. He has a lovely nature and has done all that is asked of him as you said he would. We have been getting out for some good hacks, working in the school and got out to our first trailblazers showjumping competition last week where he jumped 2 double clears and won the 85 class. Not bad for our first time out, especially as there was over 40 in the class. We plan to go showjumping this weekend so will let you know how we get on.

We still really miss Jack but are glad that he is in an environment where he can now come on and gain some competition experience. Give him a big hug from me.

Will contact you soon to arrange to come and see Jack.

Best Wishes Amy

Having spent over 3 years looking for a horse - across UK, France and Switzerland, I eventually found Panama Sport Horses and immediately knew I would no longer have to trail through the classifieds. However, I am probably the choosiest person on the planet and what I was looking for was like trying to find a needle in a haystack. And its exactly that when looking for a horse - you can give a list of all the things you want - type, age, gelding or mare, color, experience, price, discipline, but when it comes down to it, it's that bit of magic that you cant explain that is the clincher. With a seemingly bottomless pit of patience Carol eventually found me a beautiful mare ... with the killer magic. An American bred ex racehorse mare who has completely stolen my heart. It took 7 months, which is fast considering I had been looking for 3 years! Even when I knew she was the one, Carol and all the staff spent 2 solid weeks with me trying her out everyday - because a horse can have good days and bad days just like people and I wanted to see them all before I commited. Having raced 8 times she certainly new her old job. But incredibly this honest mare was 100% on the gallops and never strong, very nicely balanced in the school. stood to mount, even did gates (which I was ultimately impressed with), knew voice commands and had a lovely gentle manner in the stable. Giselle is now living in Surrey and the yard cannot believe how such a young horse could settle in so fast. After 2 days she looked like she'd been there for 2 months. I rode her the third day and she was exactly the same horse I tried out in Gisburn - And thats when I really knew I had been right to trust in Carol becuase it's one thing for a horse to behave brilliantly in the surroundings, routine and people it knows, but quite another for a horse to be that same horse in a new home. We are getting braver and braver and the bond is growing everyday. She joined up for the first time last week and I was still smiling when I woke up the next day. This super little mare has had her routine changed completely and now gets ridden at night and finishes at 9pm but she hasnt even batted an eye. She's turned out everyday and has made loads of new friends. I'm hoping to keep her fit throughout the winter and start endurance in the summer. But for the moment I am just enjoying every minute of her doing the simple stuff that horses do so brilliantly. Thank you again for your patience, expertise, confidence and above all finding the magic I was looking for for so long. Will send piccies with me riding her (sorry didnt send a fews weeks ago when she still had her pretty summer coat) :-0

love, Blair

Finally found time to say a huge 'thank you' for Puzzle. He's a superstar and just as you described him. We spent weeks and weeks looking for a pony only to find that they weren't all that the sellers claimed. We stumbled upon your website when we had just about given up. Puzzle is exactly what we were hoping for - I'm so glad that we didn't settle for less. We've had him only a week and a half and he's settled in really well, taking everything in his stride and giving us loads of confidence already. Your trial facilities (and jumping lesson!) were excellent - the only thing we didn't think to check was how he would load.... for the record, we tried him yesterday and he was impeccably behaved both in and out - didn't bat an eyelid! We're Looking forward to our first outing this weekend. I didn't think the perfect pony exisited but he's proved me wrong! Finally, can you say a big thank you to Sam - she was a brilliant guide when we came to see Puzzle and she's welcome to come and visit him any time.

All the very best, Cathryn Beckett-Hill

When I decided to look for a new horse to start eventing again I was recommended by friends to visit Panama Sport Horses at Gisburn – I was told that they always had a good selection of horses to look at. There was one in particular who caught my eye. Carol was very helpful throughout the whole process – encouraging my trainer to visit the yard to see the horse, allowing me to use his gallops and cross country schooling fences to build my confidence as well as giving me a show jumping lesson.

In the 6 months since I bought him he has surpassed my expectations – for a horse not yet 5 years old he is so willing and easy to handle and has competed in his first affiliated dressage test and BE90 events.

I am delighted with the horse and I am more than happy to recommend Panama Sport Horses.

To whom it may concern

In 2003 and 2004, I travelled to England as chef d'equipe of teams of young riders, representing the Equestrian Federation of Australia, Victorian branch. Panama Sport Horses supplied the horses for our teams on both occasions. Our teams competed against local teams on their own mounts. The quality of the horses supplied to us was such, that in 2003 one of our team was awarded 'Rider of the Series'. This is no mean feat when competing against top quality opposition mounted on their own horses. At the conclusion of the 2004 tour, members of our team were invited to compete in the Towerlands Senior Nations Cup, again competing on horses supplied by Panama Sport Horses. The quality of the opposition, both riders and their own horses were formidable, but our team ran 2nd, beaten only by one rail. These remarkable results would not have been possible, if the quality of horses supplied to our team, were not of such a high standard. Nick Saville is a very experienced horseman, who has clearly demonstrated his ability to supply the right horses for competitors in high quality international competitions. I have no hesitation in recommending Nick and Panama Sport Horses highly.

Thought it was about time I gave you an update on Paint (now Oscar). He is going incredibly well, and I really love him to pieces! I have discovered he is the kind of horse who definitely works better if he is getting lots of work - which is great and is certainly keeping me busy! He has to be one of the easiest horses to handle - such a sweetie and happy to be lead by anyone or tied up anywhere!! He has also become much fitter and is really forward to ride, which is excellent! Our schooling is coming on in leaps and bounds and fortunately the yard has just had the outdoor arena extended and improved so that means we will be starting lots of show jumping practice to get us ready in time for the start of the season! He really is an amazing horse and i'm so lucky to have him!

Many thanks
Kiri

, Just to let you know Lofly Boy, who we bought from you in November 2010, is going very well. I ve started weekly dressage lessons on him and he s taken to it like a duck to water. He s got such great paces and works really hard, Im hoping to start competing with him soon. He s also an absolute love to handle, and exactly what we asked you for.

Hope you are well, thanks for all your help,
Many thanks, Caroline Parks and Liz Finney.

Just to let you know that Glen and I are getting on great! He's already a star and is getting me back into riding! I have already had some lessons on him and have got both of us on a strict fitness routine! We're going to a trailblazers competition in a couple of weeks...and have a few hunter trials planned. We both need to get back into competition mode - as we've both had a year off! Im looking forward to coming back to you for some much needed lessons in the summer!

How is Ida doing? I am missing her a lot!

Hope all is well,

Just wanted to drop you a line to say that Tully (thats what we call her)/Ally has settled in really well. Haven't done as much riding as I would have liked due to this snow, but its given us a chance to get to know each other. I did manage a lesson on her before the snow, and she was fantastic. We are hoping to move yards soon, for better facilities, and I'm sure she will take it in her stride. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

Kind Regards

Sarah Fisher

eagle has settled in and is so good! i am so pleased with him, jumped him over a course on monday and hacked him out Wednesday and he was so well behaved, he is so honest and is the perfect horse for me i think, thankyou also for helping me with my riding,

Hope you are both well, just thought I would give you a update on how Billy (aka Mash as he was called) is getting on, we have been doing a lot of schooling on flat with Billy to train him up for Dressage as I plan Event him ASAP, as you both know he is a very quick learner and he loves his job he's slipped right into the routine, his flat work is super now and he's enjoy it too, jumping wise well what can I say he's got a fantastic jump to him, so that makes my job easy I hardy need to help him, he goes and clears everything without prompting, he is amazing and I'm made up to have him. I will be hunting him in the winter can't wait to try him over some hedges, I would like to take this opportunity to thank both of you, I gave you a list of what sort of horse I was after and you gave me exactly what I ask for thank you once again.

Hope all is well,

Just had dressage lesson on my favorite new boy dylan and I now cant wait to enter an event. What a fabulous attitude, he learnt quickly and adapted to my way of riding quite quickly. We jumped some XC the other day including a big hedge and ditch and he was awesome. Going to aim for kelsall in September but have VERY high hopes for next year. I know it was hard to part with him Carol, but thanks, cos I love him. will send some pics when i get some.

Thought i would just let you know that Poppy or Rainbow as you know her has settled into her new home really well. Laura and Poppy have got a good bond with each other and are coming along really well, Poppy follows Laura around, when coming in from the field Poppy either comes to the gate or follows Laura to the gate and when told to go to her stable she just takes herself to the stable, bless. We have took her to Ilkley Riding Show and she was really good. We will keep in touch and let you know how she goes Thanks Pam Michael and Laura. x

Hope all is well,

with regard to peggy, she has done 6 Royal International qualifiers. She had 5 clears, and 1 pole, getting 3 seconds and a reserve, third, fifth and a win and champion at white rose. She has just started the HOYS qualifiers and jumped a good clear at Bold Heath on monday. Fingers crossed for our HOYS ticket! Its my last year in 15hh WHP, so I need to find another job for her because I don't want to sell her, maybe she can have some foals! She is great and I couldn't have asked for a better horse. Thanks for all the lessons!

Hanky Panky looks nice. A proper cob type. I'll keep my ears open for anyone looking for a coloured cob.

Thanks, Soph :)

Just a quick note to say how well Elliot has settled in - he has been so chilled out since the minute he got off the wagon! I am really pleased with him - such a nice personality and easy to handle. We have have been hacking out and he is great in traffic - next week we are taking him jumping at a local show, so I am looking forward to that.

Thanks for the help and advise when we came to try him - I was expecting to be a lot more nervous but you both put me at ease straight away. Hopefully I will be able to get over for a few lessons over the summer - so I will keep in touch.

Hi, sorry the pictures took so long the email function stopped working on my phone. I just wanted to say thanks again, he's exactly what I wanted and our family love him to bits. My mums considering buying a pony for my sister so we might be back in touch with you again soon!

Thanks Lauren

Also to update you on Millie .. well what can we say she has never put a foot wrong since she came to us at Christmas. We've been to Myerscough for lessons, she happily travels in our trailer (just need a bigger one so can fit both our "big girls" in together), done hacking in all sorts of traffic, schooling, jumping and generally having a great time with her. We're planning to go to Crowwood shortly and also hope to get back over to your place too if that's still ok?

She is such a good girl and is exactly as you said she would be and as Carol said the only thing she's not keen on is having her mane pulled but Charlie just uses a Solo comb and she's fine with that. We will send you some pictures of her so you can see how great she is looking. Oh and just had her teeth done as dentist was due on our yard anyway.

Also the lady who bought Luke from you rang us and it was lovely for Charlie to know where he has gone and that he's going to be out jumping...sounds like you not only found us the perfect horse but found a brilliant home for Luke too. Thanks again and hope to see you soon. Passport on its way next week.
Best wishes
Charlie, Robyn, Christine and Millie.

Thanks ever so much for making me, Darren and Arri so welcome last week. It was so lovely to be chilled out for once, in a great atmosphere and was just what both me and Arri needed. I'm now looking for somewhere else to keep him (not easy round here), as all the facilities in the world don't make up for being stressed, with an unhappy horse!! Just a pity you aren't nearer!

Please thank Andy and the girls for helping to make our stay such a good one. Hope to be back at some point, as desperate to try your gallops!

Thanks again,

Vicki

Just a little note to let you know how Phylis is going on (we call her filly) she has really settled at my moms and goes out in the field everyday, she is a pleasure to own and we all love her much.

Many Thanks for giving me the opportunity to own a lovely horse

Sorry about not being in touch for a while I have been very busy with Noz, she is well and truly settled now and seems to be getting better everyday. I have hunted her all season and she was brill at it, jumpped everything.. even a few hedges! We are also doing alot of pony club stuff at the moment and her falt work and jumpping are coming on really well. Hopefully going to bsja senior novice on her soon, I was ment to do it a month ago but it snowed so we coulnt go, and my first event should be on the 9th of may. I cannot thankyou enough for selling Noz to me and hopefully we will have many happy years together.

Happy New Year to you. Sorry we have not been back in touch but have been snowed in and today is the first day back at work.

I just wanted to say how pleased we are with Quest (Faringdon Lodge). This horse has proved to be exactly as described to us by yourselves and we are really delighted. Only having had him for two weeks, Quest went hunting with the Warwickshire Hunt and stood perfectly at the meet and Louise, our daughter came home full of praise for him. Unfortunately, the day was spent on a lot of plough which is very heavy at the moment because it has been so wet and they had to jump a small post and rails out of one field. A couple of trot strides and one of canter and he popped out beautifully. He has manners to burn and is a perfect gentleman in and out of the stable. He has made friends with There Ya Go (Go Go) and enjoys playing with him in the field. Thank you so much for your honesty in describing him and we will come back to you to look for a hunter for Louise’s boyfriend, Richard.

Judy

hello carol ... I just wanted to let you know how coco is getting on. she's a fab horse and am really pleased with her :) I have taken her to trawden show and she did really well. thank you so much for helping us find her and I have sent you some photos in the email to show you how she is getting on. thank you again and hope everything is going okay there :) from Vicky , Vicky and Nigel

Just wanted to let you know how Romeo (Edward) is doing. He is going very well and we took him to his first show in the summer, it was only a showing/working hunter show and we placed in every class! Also many people have told me he would make a very nice w.h horse!! He has gained so much in confidence and has filled out and is up to weight now and is starting to look lovely. We came first in a sj competition the other weekend, doing our first jump off. And in the summer we cleared a 4ft fence http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HvwghQf58T4 which we were very happy about. Thank you very much, Gabbie Floris.

Hi sorry it has taken so long to send you this update on stryder , but we have been really busy with him, what a star he is shannon is now jumping opens with him and proving to be careful and honest, in the next few weeks we will be going BSJA with him can you believe that knowing how timid shannon use to be, not any more thanks to styder he's not only her pony but her best friend, he's looking really good and i will get shannon to send a photo of him.

this is just a quick email to let you know how Jessie is and thank you for all your help. She settled in very quickly and people on the yard can not believe she is so young! She takes everything in her stride, is very relaxed to ride and new sights and sounds don't seem to make her flap. She is brilliant to handle and walks calmly at my side, yet she is forward going to ride without being hot or nervous. The other day a tractor was moving the muck heap next to the arena when we were riding - it was slapping and scraping the floor a couple of meters away but she didn't even look at it. I absoloutely adore her.

Thanks once again,

Rachel Southgate.

Carol was good enough to find her a small pony to ride and they have had a fab week, what a fantastic pony !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She wont go back to the trekking centre !

Just writing to say thank you very much for letting me do work experience on your yard, it was a pleasure. Thank-you for the lessons, advice and the trip to Barton, it was great! I cannot wait to come back and help out again!

Today we went to a show and I qualified for Todds on both Saxon and Breeze (Kayleigh was at work, so I rode Breeze) they went really well with your advice I've been using, I've attached some pictures of them both.

I would also like to say a special thank-you for letting me borrow Noz for camp and I am very sad we couldn't buy her, but she will make someone an excellent little horse!

Missing the yard already!

I have had Diamond for 5 weeks and she has been 100% in every way. She is everything you said she would be, especially when leading my daughter on her pony. On my first outing on the Quantocks the other day, we experienced two low flying helicopters, and I was so pleased with her non-reaction as they were very loud and terrifying. Other horses would have gone into 'flight mode'!! Diamond is now very much part of the family, and I feel as if she has always been with me. She is a gem. Very many thanks.
Best wishes

Thank you very much, for bringing Jez up to Scotland last month. He has settled in well at his new home and I have to say he is absolutely as you described him; a real gentleman with an engaging and harmless sense of humour. He is so good out hacking, I have had him out more in the last three weeks than I did my previous horse in the past three years! We are taking it slowly with him, but he’s already beginning to show his capabilities and he’s likely to do his first dressage show later this week and I reckon we’ll have him in the Jump Cross competition by the end of the Summer. Then who knows! One thing for sure, you were spot on when you said that he had a lot to teach me. I’m really enjoying him and rediscovering how much I like riding!

Thanks to you and Carol for all your kindness, help and advice.
Best wishes,
Ronnie

Just like to say thanks buz (fluster buster) is everything and more you said he would be it's so refreshing to see a pony thats described to be what it is and to buy a pony from a seller that is 100% honest, even to point of telling you the bad points not that there really are any to mention. to anyone buying a horse/pony buy with confidence from this seller, what your told your getting is what you get. thanks again. Lyn

Fluster buster now a Pony Sapphire finalist.

Luso doing really well georgie really confedent with her what do you think about her comin in the summer hols for couple of weeks Thankyou for all u have done to help us even though it cost me more georgie happy thats the main thing
Tina

Just a quick note to let you know how he is getting on. He is very settled and everyone loves him! Took him to Somerford yesterday, our lst xc training and he was unbelieveable!! He is very brave - bank. ditches - jumped everything, (even if a little too fast but we're working on it)
The water stopped him at first but once he went in he was up and down the steps no messing!
Doing a dressage in couple of weeks! bit ambitious as his canter is still a little onward but we have to start sometime!
Regards
Janet

Hi just thought I would drop you a line to let you know how the mere is I bought. if you can remember we came to see some cods but the lorry was late so we looked at cherry {as I call her} my friend James was with me. Well she is doing really well, we are getting along great, she is very settled and is everything you said she would be. She can be playful, but also sensible As she is still young we can live and learn together, Thank you so much, I will forward on some photos so you can see
kind regards to you and your family
Kathryn

Rosie has settled in well in her new home and is loving all the company. She is a pleasure to ride and is all you said about her and more. As an older rider who has just got back in to riding she is giving me so much confidence. I even jumped a course the first in over thirty years. We have also been out hacking and she was a gem. I will certainly recommend you to any friends who are looking for horses as you seem to know what horse suits the rider the best and do everything you possibly can to find the perfect match.
I know that you will look after Lady and I cant wait of news of her being in foal and hopefully visiting her when she has had it.
Thank you again its nice to find a good guy out there who really cares about his horses, sellers and buyers.
Best wishes
